The Roll Model® Method / Yoga Tune Up® - The RMM is a soft-tissue conditioning, self care fitness format that uses the various RMM therapy balls for self-myofascial release (self-massage). This class will also include breath work, checkin-recheck, elements of alignment, anatomy instruction and mental awareness (such as conscious relaxation / meditation). This class will address underlying "issues in the tissues", allowing you to decrease stress and tension, and improve body sense and awareness. This is a great class for pre-hab/re-hab, as well as overall self-care. Sometimes, will integrate some YTU poses for strength and some Yin for restoration of the nervous system.
Yoga Tune Up® - YTU is a fitness therapy format built around the three P's - pain, posture, and performance. It helps eradicate pain, improve posture, and enhance performance through a unique blend of corrective exercise, self massage, and traditional yoga poses and flows. This practise will help you identify and target your "body blind-spots"; areas that are most overused, underused, or misused. YTU heals damaged muscle, increases strength and establishes movement patterns to help you live better in your body. This is a movement-based practise, with a focus on building strength, stability, mobility through unique poses and sequences. It's integrates the core into most of the postures and has you feeling whole-body strong (yet relaxed) during and after the class!
Yin / Restorative - Yin is a passive practise that explores breath awareness, meditation, and deep relaxation; however, unlike other styles of yoga, the poses, mostly floor based, are held in stillness for longer periods of time. Yin yoga targets the yin tissues - joints and connective tissues - bones, ligaments, tendons, and fascia and requires relaxed muscles and lots of props (don't worry, I provide them!). This gentle practise is dee great for anyone recovering from an injury or wanting a slower paced class to balance out their "yang-like" lifestyle. Also, for anyone who is in need of down regulation techniques and strategies on how to manage the nervous system, this is for you!
