TESTIMONIALS

I have had such an amazing experience. I am now in touch with my whole body/mind connections and I appreciate and celebrate the movements I make on a day to day bases. I no longer "workout" to be fit. I focus on strengthening my mind and body connection. Being mindful and respecting my body's alignment while making my movements and challenging myself in different ways. Since taking classes with Sheena I have a found a new respect for myself and my body. I was encouraged and educated in my personal practise of my body and mind. Yoga and natural movement is a now a new found passion of mine (thanks to Sheena), and I am so lucky to have had such an incredible women in my life to inspire and encourage me to explore my personal practise and respect my body. Words cannot express my gratitude for the time taken away from your personal life to inspire and teach others your knowledge and passion about yoga, mindfulness and naturel movement. I respect you for the person you are and the wonderful knowledge you have dedicated your life to sharing with others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sara Winter
I learned so much from the yoga classes about the body and the mind. I enjoyed the many dimensions that the classes took over the years. My balance improved and my flexibility. Sheena and Scott were able to give my husband and I personal programs to work through challenges in my husbands health and preparation for me to do an 800km walk. They have enhanced our lives. Thank you so much. Sandy L.
Before joining in the Root2Rise yoga classes I was suffering from plantar fasciitis and had hit that 'over 50' stage where everything was seizing.   It's been 10 months of going once or twice a week and the difference is night and day.   My feet no longer hurt, I can even wear shoes without my orthodics for extended periods of time!  The most exciting change so far (small things :) is the fact that I can now put on my socks, pants, shoes etc without having to sit down - I can balance!  The quieted mind and attention to self and huge added bonuses.   I can say without a doubt that yoga has improved my life immensely.  Thanks Sheena!  Jennifer R.
It sounds so cliché to hear someone say: "yoga has changed my life", but in all honesty it has. It's amazing, there's no other way to put it! I first started just for exercise, little did I know HOW powerful yoga is! The exercise is just the beginning of the amazing benefits and experience for me. It has opened up so many doors to a whole new world: natural health remedies, tuning in to your body, meditation, relaxation, and most importantly, for a busy mom of two, the importance of taking time for yourself! You can't take care of others if you're not healthy and calm and ready to take on yet another hectic day. Meditation grounds me every morning before the hustle and bustle begins and I never would have known about it's power if it weren't for yoga. Sheena is an amazing instructor, and I now can't do any yoga without her, hah! I am so thankful for root2rise and all it has offered me and can't wait to continue on my journey with them in the new year! Keep up the great work!  Savannah C.
I have been doing yoga for about 12 years. In this time I have met all sorts of instructors and teachers. Some were good and some were not so good, as with a teachable. Sheena is not good, she is amazing. Yoga is an open activity in my mind. Meaning you can take what you want from it and make it your own. Sheena embraces this concept to its fullest. She is wonderful at encouraging new yogis to explore their mind and body. She is also great at challenging the experienced to look at yoga with new perspectives. She has made me learn to love and appreciate yoga all over again. Thank you Sheena for giving us the joy of a fuller life. Jennifer G.

One of the main problems with most boot camp and fitness instructors is that they struggle to find a healthy balance between being motivating and being understanding. Scott is excellent at this. He knows just when to push you to keep you going but also when you need to find the strength to push yourself. I loved the high energy and great results that all his classes gave me. I walked away from each one with a lot of sore muscles and a greater understanding of just how strong I could become. Thank you Scott for making me strive to excel in everything physical, not just boot camp. Jennifer G.
Never went to yoga in my life but I moved to Avonmore and started Sheena’s tune up class back in January. I was having lower back pain daily and just a general lack of energy/motivation due to the pain... by the end of March I was jogging again after 5 years! I just tried on last year’s summer clothes, sorry but most of them are too big 🙂
She is just wonderful, always giving modified versions of poses and stretches for those of us (me) who just aren’t flexible and reminding us to listen to our bodies. I have learned more about my own body and how it works with her than I have in all of my 47 years. I started the restorative class today too.  I embody my body, it is beautiful, it’s feeling and working better every day and I love it.
I can’t thank Sheena enough! Nickie B.
I love the variety Root2Rise offers me. Scott's fitness classes deliver the challenge I am looking for while Sheena's yoga classes allow me to stretch and strengthen my body in a completely different way. The combination throughout the week is fantastic!  Rhonda K.
I'm a PSW which involves a lot of twisting, bending, lifting and sometimes in the tightest and most awkward of areas. I had strained my lumbar very badly during a transfer and even the muscle relaxers prescribed by my doctor did not help in the relief of the pain.
It was recommended to me by a friend who had been practicing yoga with Root2Rise to come out and give it a try to see if it would help with my tightness and pain. On my first session Sheena came up to me and we discussed my injury and she was very good at recommending variations to accommodate my injury. Well I was very surprised after two months of practicing twice a week that my pain was gone and I was left feeling less stressed and not as tight all over. I am still practicing twice a week and trying the more advanced variations of poses and couldn't be happier with what I have accomplished with yoga. I sleep better, I can do my job with more ease, I am less stressed and feel more energetic and positive. It's absolutely wonderful how Root2Rise has helped me not only with my pain but to feel better in all aspects of my life. Victoria C.
